Dr Parul Ganju chose to forgo a US research opportunity to focus on developing a treatment for vitiligo after witnessing its profound impact on patients. In 2016, she co-founded Ahammune Biosciences, where the lead drug candidate, AB1001, targets the disease’s underlying immune pathway rather than broadly suppressing immunity. Now in Phase 2 clinical trials, the investigational therapy reflects her commitment to translating scientific research into potential treatments that could improve millions of lives.
