Following the death of a 55-year-old man who was swept into an open manhole during heavy rain in Mumbai’s Sakinaka area, the BMC has suspended two officials, blacklisted the contractor involved and launched a probe into the alleged negligence. The victim, Aslam Shaikh, died after falling into a manhole reportedly left open during maintenance work.
