In an exclusive conversation with NDTV, American singer Mary Millben strongly criticised New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s opposition to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s visit and upcoming Madison Square Garden event. Millben called Mamdani and the Democratic Socialists of America “socialist nuts” and accused them of being opposed to democracy and religious freedom. She argued that a private event at Madison Square Garden can legally go ahead and said Mamdani’s remarks showed a lack of understanding of capitalism in the US. Millben also shared her views on the RSS, saying the organisation has an opportunity to use the spotlight to explain its message, promote religious freedom and counter what she described as misconceptions about the RSS.
