Speaking to NDTV on the controversy surrounding the alleged use of pellet guns during a Delhi student protest, former IPS officer Kiran Bedi said police should register an FIR immediately upon receiving a complaint and provide a copy to the complainant. Bedi said the investigation can proceed thereafter, even as a Supreme Court-monitored committee examines the incident. She also noted that police action against protesters would depend on whether a law-and-order situation arises.
