‘No one shall be disadvantaged’: CBSE issues three-language policy guidelines, exempts current Class X students

CBSE has unveiled new third language policy guidelines under NEP 2020, emphasising meaningful learning over exams. Students in Class IX from 2026-27 onwards will have internal assessment for the third language, with no board exams. Earlier batches get relaxations, while newer students will face board exams for the third language. Exemptions are provided for CwSN and foreign students, with support for migrating families.
