A chance encounter at a railway station in Germany revived the story of two Bengaluru engineers who helped challenge the belief that advanced industrial components could only be imported. In the 1980s, Pritam Singh Mogewala of Dashmesh Engineering reportedly developed a specialised fixture for Hero Honda that engineers believed could not be made in India. Alongside B. K. Jain, he championed indigenous engineering through practical problem-solving and friendship, leaving students a powerful lesson about innovation, persistence and self-belief.
