In this exclusive conversation, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat shares his views on people-to-people ties between India, Pakistan, and China, and whether such engagement should continue during times of conflict.
Bhagwat says that during military conflict or periods of terrorism, citizens must stand with the Government of India and the armed forces. However, he argues that historical and civilizational ties between people should not be permanently broken, adding that dialogue should resume once conflict ends.
He also speaks about India’s civilizational approach, saying the country’s tradition is not to conquer others but to seek harmony through dialogue and coexistence. Referring to terrorism, he describes it as a form of “hidden war” that must be dealt with firmly.
