Dr Kiran Prakash Chavan, founder of Manobrahma Foundation and Director of Samvad Rehabilitation Centre, has been appointed as a non-official member of the Maharashtra State Mental Health Authority Committee for a three-year term. Recognised for his work in de-addiction, psychiatric rehabilitation, mental health awareness and community-based care, Dr Chavan aims to strengthen inclusive and accessible mental healthcare services across Maharashtra. His appointment is expected to bring valuable grassroots expertise to state-level mental health policy-making.
